Snappy Shopper brings Christmas magic to Lockerbie with free Santa’s Grotto for local families

The event, held on November 28 at Freshway Lockerbie, transformed the store into a winter wonderland, complete with a Santa’s grotto, cheerful elves, a spin-to-win prize wheel and free face painting for all.

Children aged 0 to 15 enjoyed an afternoon packed with free activities, including meeting Santa, taking home a Christmas gift, enjoying sweet treats, winning prizes and accessing the in-store soft play.

The community turnout was exceptional, with families praising the event for its warm atmosphere and the chance to enjoy a little seasonal magic together.

One parent shared: “Mylie loved meeting Santa and his elves today. Thank you.” Another added: “Arlo loved meeting the elves today, Santa not so much (he cried!), but he’s very thankful for his book and sweets.”

A third commented: “Thank you so much to Freshway Lockerbie and Snappy Shopper for putting together a magical experience for the children. Dani was very pleased with seeing Santa and his elves. She had her face painted and was spoiled with gifts and sweets too.” One local resident summed it up: “What a lovely thing to do for the young ones.”

Freshway Lockerbie, which opened its doors to the community in July 2025 as the first Go Local store in Scotland, continues to play an active role in supporting local families and bringing people together.

The Snappy Shopper team said they were delighted to bring the festive experience to Lockerbie and give back to a community that has supported its local store partners throughout the year.
