Foodbank founder grabs over £100 worth of essentials for charity in store dash

Angie Comerford, co-founder of Hebburn Helps, a community foodbank and crisis response team founded in 2015, was nominated to take part in the Snappy Shopper Store Dash at Horsley Hill Premier.

Angie was given 60 seconds to sprint around the store, based in Horsley Hill Square and run by long-standing owner Jag Singh, grabbing as many essentials as she could. Her total haul of £108 was fully covered by quick-delivery app Snappy Shopper.

After completing the dash, Angie said: “The dash was so much fun. I can’t thank everyone enough for nominating me and to Jag and the Snappy Shopper team for letting someone from Hebburn in the shop.

“60 seconds of fun was definitely had, and I came out with over £100 worth of shopping to go to Hebburn Helps.”

Jag Singh said: “Angie did absolutely amazing at the dash. I’m really pleased it will help Hebburn Helps this Christmas.”

Earlier this month, Horsley Hill Premier announced its partnership with Snappy Shopper, bringing 30 to 60 minute home delivery to surrounding communities. Having built a huge social media following, Horsley Hill Premier will be giving back across the festive season - including charity donations, winter bundles and essentials for less.

This week, Jag ‘Bossman’ Singh also donated 100 selection boxes to WrappforJak, a family-run event that supports disadvantaged children in South Tyneside.

Jag added: “This community has supported our store for more than a decade, and we want to give something meaningful back. Partnering with Snappy Shopper means we can help people get essentials to their homes quickly.”

To celebrate the recent launch, new Snappy Shopper customers can get £8 off and free delivery on two orders with the code HORSLEY88FREE. Existing customers can enjoy £5 off and free delivery with the code SNAPPY5FREE.

The Snappy Shopper app is available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
